In an economic environment where many are struggling, the Great Lakes Bay Region is creating tomorrow’s opportunities in diverse industries such as health care, science and technology, alternative energy, specialty manufacturing and more. The region offers a multitude of options for business locations, working, training, education, business support and collaboration, as well as a wide range of community, cultural, housing, educational and recreational choices.
Regional cooperation and collaboration area key elements to a thriving regional economy. This was the mindset when the Bay Area, Midland Area and Saginaw County Chambers of Commerce, along with Bay Future, Midland Tomorrow and Saginaw Future, Inc. formed a regional alliance called VISION TRICOUNTY, now the Great Lakes Bay Regional Alliance. With strategic collaboration the Alliance worked together to build on the regional strengths critical to both individual and collective futures of each area.
Only a few years old, the Great Lakes Bay Regional Alliance has already demonstrated increased growth and development for the region. The collaborative efforts have grown to include Isabella County through the Mt. Pleasant Chamber of Commerce along with additional economic development corporations.
Today the Great Lakes Bay Regional economic opportunities are being monitored and developed through the Four Chambers of Commerce and the following economic development entities:
